Papagena by Awkward-Hermit Papagena by Awkward-Hermit
This was just a fun little design I made up. It's the first drawing I made in my new sketch book, and that's always fun.
This probably took a little over 5 hours to make, but I tend to stretch the actual progress over a long period of time. (I worked on this for over 2 weeks.)
The materials used were just sharpies, prismacolor markers for the good skin tone, and black prismacolor pens.

Ohhhhh, this is a Hyacinth Macaw!! It's natural from Brazil! It lives in "Pantanal" region of Brazil and eastern Bolivia also in Paraguay too! Nowadays it's not a so endangered species, but it used to be alarming endangered. They so beautiful, aren't they?! I saw a lot personally already, they are so NOISY!!! But the color is so beautiful isn't it? It looks like methylene blue <3 So stunning, u did it's colors amazingly identical! It's PERFECT! I think in your drawing it's colors looks even more vivid than the original feather's colors, it looks great darling! I didn't know u liked big parrots, I thought u liked the smaller ones and less noisy! Hahaha, cuz let's say the truth, the big ones are super noisy, my neighboor used to have four, and they would make loud noises all day long XDDD By the way, I love how incredible the lightly blue reflections in ur drawings feathers gives a great effect of ilumination, it's so beautiful, it's breathtaking, I love blue and green and red, and very powerfull hot colors, so, yeah, u mostly use my favorite colors in your drawings I adore them <3

Now... Let's talk about this hell damned fucking amazing hair coloration, that I am so damn jealous of that I could die................. *breaths heavily indignated* ... HOW CAN YOU REACH THAT OUSTADING red, orange, yellow and bloody shades???? How??? Affe, I would sell my soul to be abble to do such deep strong lively hot burning colors!! OHMG every colorations I try to do look so plain, hollow, shallow... I could dive into urs, though... It's so deep I could go into my bad ass mermaid side and sink into it... So jealous, so envy, but so happy for ya having such a great talent, dear, very happy for ya, the black background with the blue points creates a cool night atmosphere, u did her hair, face, skin and expression greatly and I congratulate you very much for the good job, u just keep getting better cuz I remember ur firsts drawings, I was there almost 4 years ago, hehe, and I saw the firsts u posted here, and now after all this time I see you're only improving ^^ My compliments and congrats for ur talent, and kisses

Hyacinth macaws are such a beautiful species, I couldn't resist drawing one! The deep blue of their feathers is memorizing, so I tried to imitate it! I'm happy to hear they are no longer endangered! Many bird species are becoming scarce because of poachers and it makes me very sad.... But thank you so much!!! I'm so happy you think it looks good!! Llama Emoji-21 (Speechless) [V1]  Blue colors are kinda hard to match properly, so I guess I did okay! Epic La
And I love all birds!! They're all such wonderful people! (Yes, I'm weird and think of birds as people with feathers! Laugh )  Big birds are a little intimidating, but I really love to watch them!
I'm happy you like the colors I used!!! People's favorite colors reflect a lot about them! wink grin

hahaha, as for her hair, I'm positive you could quickly learn how to do something like it! Your colors and shading easily match my own! Honestly, I do most of my colors with just Sharpies, and once you learn to blend them, it's easy!!! So don't ever think of your beautiful work as hollow, plain, or shallow, MY SENSEI!!!!Hamtaro Mouse Emoji-03 (Squee) [V1]  Your work is excellent!!! Pikachu Loves It Plz

I greatly appreciate your sincere compliments, though, darling! It makes me cringe to think of my old drawings...Britney Spears - Yiiikess  But thank you as always for being so uplifting and making my day so positive!!

Take care, hugs and kisses!!! Let me hug you! Hug Lovely Shoujo Emoji (Huggy Hug) [V2]

Yeah, they are not endangered here in Brazil anymore, and, actually, these days there was a report on TV that a brazilian big zoo was capable of breeding in captivity an endangered specie of hyacinth macaw, so, if they are capable enough to repeat it, maybe this side species of hyacinth macaws will be out of extinction hazard in some years.

Yeah, u did okay, not only it seems identical, but it seems really more vivid than the real one, so, u did a great job, congrats.

I loved and love ur old drawings as much as I do love the new ones, they are both as good, with different technics, there's no reason to cringe about it.

You're welcome, take good care, bye

That's good to hear! I hope that more endangered species can reach that success! Tyler's Chatot Chubi-con

Thank you, I'll keep practicing to be more realistic!! :D

Hahaha, well, it's nice that you see it that way! I guess a lot of people don't like their old work! I still want to see your Lion and Lamb drawing, regardless of you liking it or not! (I am determined!! )

Hyacinth Macaws are really tough creatures to breed in captivity cuz they do not mate with a partner they don't like, and they are really shy creatures in this aspects.

I believe cat's have human souls without the more advanced capacities of rationality. I believe their feelings are a lot alike humans, but they lack the ambition and wickedness that humans have, so they are a purest version of us, with sweet naivety and basic instincts of survival.

I believe in this when It comes to cats, and lots of other animals, birds are inside the same possibilities, I do not find weird the fact u see them like people, at all. If I found that weird, I'd be weird too.

When it comes to colors it's not about skills and techniques that we talk about, improving skills and techniques can't make u coloration better cuz it depends of the person u are. I am very impatient and rampant when it comes to drawings, I wish to see them done quickly, so it doesn't matter how much I learn about colorations and how good are my skills in it, if I do not have the patience, the cunning and tolerance, I'll never be able to reach the sames results as u do. And yeah, I do not have that patience, I can't do little details, or colors that takes too much time of me on doing it, cuz it makes me crazy. So I'm already over the fact that I can't do it.

I will think about it and maybe I'll see if I still have that drawing around here in the middle of this mess of thousand papers. If I find it, I'll edit it properly, scan it and post here. I still don't know, though, but maybe I'll, so, don't worry about it.

Take care and have a good week, today is just the begining of it, have fun, bye ~

It seems like a lot of birds can be difficult to breed in captivity. I know with little lovebirds, females will kill a male if they don't like them, but lovebirds are a particularly vicious kind of bird. I'm happy that the hyacinths are coming back though. it seems sulphur crested cockatoos are going extinct though... I just read something about how poachers captured a few hundred of them and stuffed them into water bottles so they could be transported easier... It makes me truly sick how people treat animals...
The idea you have about cats and other animals seems accurate. Animals don't seem to live in the future and plot evil things like people can... They just survive for themselves...

And yeah, impatience makes things a lot harder, so i see why you might think that. Even if you chose not to take time on your art, if you draw things quickly they still look excellent, so I'm sure you could do whatever you want!! Haha, impatience plagues us both, though, so I understand. Just don't stop drawing altogether, because I love your work!

And good!!! I'll be waiting!

And thank you!! And likewise, I hope everything goes well for you! :D

I would wear it!

I made one for me and printed on a yellow shirt I have.
But since it's a symbol I created and has no actual meaning, no one would wear except me.

And you're welcome!
